A dizzy prayerwalk

I am currently spending about 2 hours daily on racewalk training. I use this opportunity to pray for the motorists that pass by me. The "one-in-a-million prayerwalk" is an attempt to pray for 1 000 000 individuals, while also praying for 1 000 000 to be saved in New Zealand. Yesterday's prayerwalk during peak time traffic was enough to make me quite dizzy while praying ... BUT I know the Lord knows each one of the people and I cannot pray fast and enough for each person. Some of these precious people have not been prayed for in some time - I know this in my heart. This is very encouraging for me. Since 6 November 2006 I have prayed for 27,456 motorists, and have walked a distance of 174 km . 29 Nov 2006 - Motorists: 944 Northcote / Torbay / Brownsbay - Distance walked: 10 km 28 Nov 2006 - Motorists: 2,458 East Coast Rd / Constellation Drive - Distance walked: 6 km 26 Nov 2006 - Motorists: 3,053 East Coast Rd / Constellation Drive / Sunset Drive - Distance walked: 9 km

Spine-chilling prayerwalk

13,582* motorists prayed for (11,318 drivers + 2,264 passengers) since 6 November 2006. On this morning's prayerwalk, I had a spine-chilling experience. 5 days ago, I asked the Lord to open my eyes to see into the spiritual realm ... like Elisha's servant who couldn't see why Elisha wasn't afraid of the huge army around his town ... sent to come and get him (Elisha) ... a whole army sent to fetch one of God's children. Now he had something to be scared of ... but yet he said to his servant: (2 Kings 6:16) "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Who was he referring to? What did Elisha know that his servant didn't know. It was just the 2 of them, and the huge army surrounding the town. (2 Kings 6:16) And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of

Lessons from a prayerwalk

11 182 people prayed for This morning the "1 million prayers"-prayerwalk had its first milestone ... I just passed the 10 000 mark. It started out as such a daunting ... unreachable goal, but now I have hope ... Just keep at it and keep on praying for precious people - ONE by ONE and I will get there. It will add up to 1 million en the end. Last week this prayerwalk added a dimension to my spiritual life which I thank God for. I experienced quite a number of moments where God reminded me of specific things in my own life - and I realised it was pointing to things that I did and never repented of. Unrepented sins. Aghhhh it feels so good to finally have spoken to the Lord about those things and knowing He is a loving and forgiving God. And to be able to look Him in the eyes without any feelings of guilt. Nehemiah 9:17 (New International Version) ... But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love ... Now a valuable lesson that I lea

one-in-a-million prayerwalk

Praying for 1 000 000 to be saved in New Zealand Christians have started praying for 1 million New Zealanders to be saved, and this prayerwalk is to pray for 1 million people representing them. Each person in that huge number (1 million) is someone special and that is what the next prayerwalk is about. Praying for each one of them. I am setting out to pray for 1 million people as they pass me. I pray that if they are not saved, they will be saved. If they are saved, to get to know the Lord Jesus more intimate. So while I pray for people individually, those prayers will also be for another individual to get saved ... does that make sense? I chose to do it where I find myself daily - on the road among thousands of commuters. I have seen something develop during the past months: As I prayerwalked the city, I have noticed that there are many opportunities to pray for motorists and their passengers. Some days I did that as they just kept on coming past me in droves. ( What a great opportuni
