one-in-a-million prayerwalk

Praying for 1 000 000 to be saved in New Zealand

Christians have started praying for 1 million New Zealanders to be saved, and this prayerwalk is to pray for 1 million people representing them.

Each person in that huge number (1 million) is someone special and that is what the next prayerwalk is about. Praying for each one of them. I am setting out to pray for 1 million people as they pass me. I pray that if they are not saved, they will be saved. If they are saved, to get to know the Lord Jesus more intimate.

So while I pray for people individually, those prayers will also be for another individual to get saved ... does that make sense?

I chose to do it where I find myself daily - on the road among thousands of commuters. I have seen something develop during the past months: As I prayerwalked the city, I have noticed that there are many opportunities to pray for motorists and their passengers. Some days I did that as they just kept on coming past me in droves. (What a great opportunity to put intercession into practise, and to proclaim the kingdom over the people in the city.)

I have just recently started to count the traffic for my own company's marketing purposes. The figures have been compared to the city council's counts and it shows that my routes can take me past more than 96 000 motorists every month.

Here's the challenge:

During the next 10 months, the "one-in-a-million prayerwalk" will focus on praying for 1 million people.
This is how many motorists I could be able to see ... and pray for!

I feel in my heart this is a physical demonstration of the 1 million souls we are praying for.

Will you join me at least for one day in the next 10 months? And as you walk your neighbourhood, just pray for the salvation of the people who pass you by. You will be amazed how much softer your heart becomes after walking (praying) for 30 minutes.

6446 prayed for this week ... 993 554 to go

Monday - 1180
I prayerwalked for an hour in the morning on a route that brought 1180 people past me. Those are people who I saw and prayed for. I don't know their names or their situations - but God does ... Some of them I just "hand to God" in the prayer - He knows how long it has been since some of them was prayed for.
Tuesday - 2400
I took a long walk - 15km (Takapuna-Albany-Browns Bay) 0900 to 1300, and what a wonderful time of intimacy I had! The Lord reminded me at some point of some unrepentent sins in my own life, and I felt so free and clean after making right with God. That is the wonder of our God - so many times I set out to pray for others and then, in an instant, He takes hold of me and just draws me into His presence.
And what a great surprise when one of the vehicles that passed me had on it's license plate: "be blessed" ...
Wednesday - 466
This was an early evening walk. Sunset over the bay ... walking with Jesus.
Thursday - Leg-rest
Friday - 2400
Another long walk on a busy route. (Takapuna-Sunny Nook-East Coast Bays Road-Browns Bay)

I need your prayers ... This is going to be a long walk and I really want to finish.

I will be updating the statistics on my ADWALKS page.

I am doing this to spread the message of how great a thing it is that we are asking God ... 1 million lives saved and turned around for Jesus. Now isn't that really exciting.

If you know someone who would want to pray with us for 1 million New Zealanders to be saved, would you please send them the link to this page - CLICK HERE and get them praying too.

I will keep the blog updated and will send out email notices from time to time as I feel led to.

So in the mean time, get out there, pray for some motorists and pray that they will have an encounter with God today. Pray that they will get saved if they are not saved yet and pray for their safety on the road.

And when the roads get real busy, ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray faster, more and deeper ...
We have the ability to change the spiritual climate in the area where we stay - lets do it and proclaim God's kingdom over our houses, neibourhoods and cities.

Father God, I ask that You will stir in the heart of each person reading here right now, the excitement of praying for others to come into Your kingdom.
I pray Father, that You will raise up many people to pray for individuals to come to You. To turn their lives and come in to a relationship with You.

and I pray Father, that You will equip the church in New Zealand with workers to receive that harvest.

Lord I pray that You will lead them by Your Holy Spirit to prepare the way for the harvest to come in and to have a place to fellowship. Spiritual homes - where they can be taught about Your love and about You, Jesus.

and I pray Lord that this will move New Zealand into a closer relationship with You ...

I ask this in Your name Lord Jesus

Amen

The pastors-puzzle prayer-walk

Standing at the closed gate of Fisherman's Village, I needed to phone reception to open the gate. The sun was bright and I couldn't see the screen of my phone clearly. I pressed the wrong button and dialled the wrong number. William answered - he is one of two pastors who I met during a recent Holy Spirit conference - we were both delegates! It was good to hear his voice and we had a short chat. The gate opened and I entered the main office. There was a visitor - another delegate from the conference. The other of the two pastors whom I met at the conference! Both of the two pastors - not only brought to my remembrance, but brought into contact in person! How WOW is that ... Coincidence? I don't think so! ... and now I am inviting you to follow me online in my quest to see what God has in mind for me and the 2 pastor friends. Prayer-walking from William's house in Soweto to Pitso's place off the Dikhololo road on the other side of Brits. On the previous

"Ancient wells" Prayerwalk

After prayerwalking from Kimberley to Gariep dam with that profound first day spanning 66km to the centre of South Africa, Father laid on my heart to do another prayerwalk: Kimberley to Kuruman. To my question "What is in Kuruman", He answered I should do some research. Keeping in mind that the 66 books point to the bible and how I felt to pray that the bible will become central again. Actually more than central - the centre and the cornerstone in schools, business, government, and even many churches. Where Petrusburg was first founded in the middle of South Africa, the fountain dried up. The town was relocated to its current position 20 km away. The fountain in the middle of South Africa dried up! Kuruman, in the dry expanse of the Kalahari basin boasts an inexhaustible sweetwater fountain.  It has never dried out, even in the longest drought periods. It produces 20 million litres of water  daily. The first bible in Africa was p

13 Churches ... 13 August ... ONE Prayer

I am organising a prayerwalk through a local community. I have counted and included 13 churches on the route and we will pray for each church as we pass them by. The invitation I make to members of those churches is that if they feel the area needs prayer, they can join in at any of the sections on the route. There are various distances - ranging from 100 meters onwards. A real exciting thing in this is that they may meet someone from a different church who prays the same as they do. But the most exciting will be that we will go out onto the streets, walking and talking to the Lord. Some prayers are prayed just under our breath like a whisper, some just in our thoughts and some out loud and some even in song and some even just as the Holy Spirit leads us ... I encourage them just to come and pray as they feel comfortable. I tell you this because you can be part of this ... even though many of the names on this mailing list are in countries all over the world - we know the Lord is not b
