Stirred and shaken by a prayer-walk

Report-back from the Friendship prayer-walk I have much to say about this prayer-walk, but let me start by saying this: North Shore City (Auckland), where I prayer-walked is not lying on any major fault-line, therefore earthquakes in the region are relatively rare. At daybreak I started walking and praying as I passed and stopped at various churches. Then something awesome happened ... and for now, I will start off by telling only about that incident. (More about the prayer-walk will follow later.) In the afternoon, at 16:20 I was walking towards a church which I could see from a distance. I have just crossed over a steep hill, and was going from a populated area into a park-like open valley. I normally take some notes when I am prayer-walking and at that time I made these notes: " I don't know of a kind of a fault-line in the spirit realm ... but as I came into this valley, it just felt like a dense cloud of depression hanging low over the area. It felt like some kind of ten

Friendship prayer-walk

21 February 2007 - North Shore City I will soon be reaching 100 000 in the "Praying for ONE MILLION to be saved in NZ"! As an extension of that prayer, I am planning a prayerwalk throughout North Shore City - from Devonport Wharf in the South all the way to Torbay in the North and then round and back down South to end in Northcote. I plan to start at 0600 from Devonport Wharf and prayerfully walk my way from church to church, praying at each building for 15 minutes, and finally ending at 1800. One prayer for a whole busload - and for YOU

55,517 motorists prayed for since 6 November 2006. (Distance walked: 330 km) As I passed a bus, full of passengers, I was so encouraged to know I had a few seconds to pray for all of them. Encouraged, because I know that God (who knows the number of hairs on my head) knows the passengers each one intimately. For some He is waiting ... With some He is communing ... and in that short prayer I prayed, He could touch each one of them ... Our God is an awesome God - He who knows even the stars by name ... It is not too difficult for Him to hear a prayer for a whole busload of people and then know them by name and their needs - it is a bit mind-blowing to think about that. But it grows your faith! Psalm 147:4 (NIV)  4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. So He knows your deepest thoughts, dear reader as I pray for you now ... Father, As I pray for this person right now, I ask that You will reach in as his/her "will" allows you now ... to touch that hea

Author of the universe - praisewalk

41 153 motorists prayed for since 6 November 2006. Distance walked: 247 km. On this morning's prayerwalk I was - for most of the 18km - consumed by a combination of songs ... maybe I just had some words substituted. I sometimes don't mind using the words as they come to mind - it adds new meaning to the song and makes me feel the deeper meaning while the "new song" is an offering to God. Author of the u-ni-verse ... You are ho-ly ho-ly Author of the u-ni-verse ... high a-bove all el-se (repeat ... repeat ... repeat ...) Father God, You are holy You are high above all else Maker of the universe, You are holy We just praise You now We praise You We p r a i s e You mmm ... mmm mmm mmm ... We worship You Lord mmm ... Amen

A dizzy prayerwalk

I am currently spending about 2 hours daily on racewalk training. I use this opportunity to pray for the motorists that pass by me. The "one-in-a-million prayerwalk" is an attempt to pray for 1 000 000 individuals, while also praying for 1 000 000 to be saved in New Zealand. Yesterday's prayerwalk during peak time traffic was enough to make me quite dizzy while praying ... BUT I know the Lord knows each one of the people and I cannot pray fast and enough for each person. Some of these precious people have not been prayed for in some time - I know this in my heart. This is very encouraging for me. Since 6 November 2006 I have prayed for 27,456 motorists, and have walked a distance of 174 km . 29 Nov 2006 - Motorists: 944 Northcote / Torbay / Brownsbay - Distance walked: 10 km 28 Nov 2006 - Motorists: 2,458 East Coast Rd / Constellation Drive - Distance walked: 6 km 26 Nov 2006 - Motorists: 3,053 East Coast Rd / Constellation Drive / Sunset Drive - Distance walked: 9 km

Spine-chilling prayerwalk

13,582* motorists prayed for (11,318 drivers + 2,264 passengers) since 6 November 2006. On this morning's prayerwalk, I had a spine-chilling experience. 5 days ago, I asked the Lord to open my eyes to see into the spiritual realm ... like Elisha's servant who couldn't see why Elisha wasn't afraid of the huge army around his town ... sent to come and get him (Elisha) ... a whole army sent to fetch one of God's children. Now he had something to be scared of ... but yet he said to his servant: (2 Kings 6:16) "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Who was he referring to? What did Elisha know that his servant didn't know. It was just the 2 of them, and the huge army surrounding the town. (2 Kings 6:16) And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of

Lessons from a prayerwalk

11 182 people prayed for This morning the "1 million prayers"-prayerwalk had its first milestone ... I just passed the 10 000 mark. It started out as such a daunting ... unreachable goal, but now I have hope ... Just keep at it and keep on praying for precious people - ONE by ONE and I will get there. It will add up to 1 million en the end. Last week this prayerwalk added a dimension to my spiritual life which I thank God for. I experienced quite a number of moments where God reminded me of specific things in my own life - and I realised it was pointing to things that I did and never repented of. Unrepented sins. Aghhhh it feels so good to finally have spoken to the Lord about those things and knowing He is a loving and forgiving God. And to be able to look Him in the eyes without any feelings of guilt. Nehemiah 9:17 (New International Version) ... But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love ... Now a valuable lesson that I lea
